I have reached out to Ty several times since the police unjustly railroaded him into confessing to my shooting. His lawyer must had advised him not to contact me until after the trial, because he is not taking my calls or texts, or letters. I did notice his old soccer team was playing a game today when I looked at their schedule by accident online. I happened to be in the area and saw Ty with my telephoto lens I was using to shoot photos of a rare bird species I had read was spotted nearby. He seems to have lost some of the weight and looked much happier than he has been in a while. It must be such a relief to him to know that Renata has moved on to another man. Maybe he will be back to teaching Merlin soon!
I don’t know what is going on with schools nowadays. All of a sudden they are so sensitive and picky about what the kids are wearing. Starling’s outfit is too skimpy, Merlin can’t wear a swing top and today I got called in to Hummus’s sweet lil’ nursery school because his outfit was deemed inappropriate.
Miss Sherrilyn said that they don’t celebrate the secular Christmas traditions and for some reason Santa is too “worldly” for their school. She reminded me that Christmas is a Christian holiday, did I know that? Of course I know that! I get my children all spruced up and drag them to church every single Christmas and Easter, although I may just go on Christmas Eve this year so we can skip dinner with Röbert’s mother. Anywho, I had grabbed some clothes from the lost and found at the gym so I could change him quickly and get back in time for Aerobic Boxing, I really didn’t have time to stick around for a lecture TYVM.
Speaking of Christmas, I can’t wait to see what Röbert has bought for me this year. With Cari’s help I am sure it is something amazing!
I finally asked the ladies in the office at Starling’s school where Ty has been. It seems that he is the teacher who is taking a leave of absence! I wonder what is wrong. I drove by his little house a few times and it looks like he hasn’t even been staying there. Poor Ty. Maybe I should stop by his parent’s home tomorrow and drop off some cookies or something so I can ask him a few questions.
Sometimes I feel like now that I have all of this power I can wield at school, I no longer want it. It is a lot of work being the vice president of the PTO, and, although I am an expert delegator, I still have to attend boring meetings and find people to delegate to.
I had a meeting with Merlin’s teacher Ty this morning. He usually is so much fun to be with, but lately even he has been a little bit boring. I still consider him a close friend, but I wish he would pick himself up a bit and maybe start dating someone really nice. Starling’s teacher, Ms Cole has a darling roommate who she has lived with for years. I think she would make a lovely girlfriend for Ty!
I wonder if there is a way to resign my position? Maybe if Merlin had a athletic career ending injury everyone would understand.
Röbert is so excited that Merlin made the travel team in our local soccer league. Of course he did! He takes after me athletically.
There is only one travel team for his age group, and our local league is one of the best in the state, so I am expecting big things from these little guys. Their coach is (of course) the ever-present Cliff Harris. What the hell does that man do for a living that he is available for every single play, sports team and recital? I know that Röbby would be a much better coach, but he hardly has the time!
The assistant coach this year is none other than Mr. Williams (Ty). He played soccer in college, but he explained to me that he won’t be able to make all of the games and practices, because he dedicates so much time to his work. The kids are all thrilled to see him there and he has some really fun drills for them.
I am putting Merlin on a special diet and training regimen so he can be the best on the team. I will be relieved to not have to listen to Margie brag about her lil’ monsters all of the time.
This morning, as he was leaving for an agitility show with Beefy, Röbert mentioned that Ty had called the other day and offered to take Merlin hiking with him today. What a relief! Merlin has been talking about some sort of invention he wanted to work on and I am pretty sure he expected me to take him to the hobby shop for a few items this morning. My worst nightmare. I ran out while the kids were still asleep, and grabbed some bread and preserves and butter so i could have a lil’ breakfast snack ready for Ty when he arrived. Men! He ate it right up! Merlin was thrilled, I was thrilled and Ty looked pretty pleased to see his lil’ buddy again too. They were heading over to pick up the twins and the chubby girl with glasses too. Poor Ty.
Since we wouldn’t be stuck with Merlin all day, I decided to take the other two to the beach with me. They both seemed a lil’ congested on the way over, so I put the teensiest bit of benadryl in their water bottles to help them out. They sure were tired out from all our fun yesterday I guess. They both slept the day away. They lay in the lil’ beach tent and I was able to surf and paddleboard and read my magazines. What a glorious day!
I rushed home and made a homemade looking dinner for everyone. Röbby asked Hummus and Starling what they had done all day and they had no idea. LOL! We went to the beach, sillies!
Just for fun, I enetered Hummus in a “cutest kid” contest yesterday. If you want to vote for him, here is a link. I think he is the cutest kid in the universe, of course.
Last night there was a pop-up beer garden in the park near Krystyn’s house, so Cari and Krystyn and I all felt like we had to “pop” in! Röbert was a little late from work, but he hadn’t seen the kids all day so I am sure he was fine taking them out for dinner and bathing them and getting them to bed. They were all wound up from the summer dollar matinee I brought them to yesterday afternoon. It was some old movie called “Three Ninjas”. Who knows? I loaded them up with treats, got them seated and went out to the lobby to read my twitter feed. Some of the other parents were so rude! Sure my kids might make a lil’ noise during the movie. Who cares? Did you expect to really enjoy a movie called “Three Ninjas”? Whatever.
‘The beer garden was a hoot. Krystyn got as lil’ tipsy and ended up taking off most of her clothes because she was hot. LOL! We ran into Ty and his hipster friends playing skeeball. It was so nice to see my old buddy again and he just seems happier than I have seen him in a long time.
Today is the christening of Röbby’s grad school roommate’s daughter. It is at an actual church three hours away in the middle of nowhere, with a backyard reception in the 95 degree heat afterward. I had been looking forward to going and discussing people I had never met with people I will never enjoy, but unfortunately I woke up with a my grain again. When will this curse of my grains ever end for me? I try to be brave, but it is truly a burden I struggle to bear. Anywho, Röbert took the kids and i am at home alone, suffering. Becuase my head is hurting so badly, I can’t even concentrate on PBS so I am watching Teen Mom 2. Oh Leah, never change.
Röbert and I got up bright and early this morning to take the drive out to pick Merlin up from Smart Camp (or whatever it is called). I can’t believe that is his last camp this summer. Only one more week until our family vacation, though! I am so excited!
It was hard to decide what to wear for a Saturday award ceremony. It is camp, so obvioulsy not dressy, but it was in a hotel in a city, so I didn’t want to look like a hick. I decided to do preppy boho. Not bad for a mom of three!
We dropped Starling and Merlin off with Grandmama, who acted surprised, but she always pulls that stuff. “Oh, you didn’t call me. I have plans. Waaah, waaaah waaah.” What are we supposed to do? Watch our own kids? What a drama queen.
I had originally planned a day of spa treatments with Krystyn and Cari, so I had a touch of FOMO on the way up, but they sweetly kept texting me. I guess Cari said something about Krystyn’s botox, which she totally has done on the regular, but which everyone knows you can’t mention to her, early in the day so they were angry with each other all afternoon. I wish I had been there for that!
Once again, Merlin pretty much swept the awards, and everyone wanted to tell us what a delightful boy he is and so on. I let everyone know that his sister is the real treat, and they should invite her next year. I am sure they will. Everyone seemed so interested in all of my stories about Starling.
I let Ty know that we could keep Dementor for as long as he needed us to, since his house might not be safe right now and he thanked me, of course. He said that he was stopping by Renata’s place to pick up his stuff from her brother on the way home, and he’d come by for Dementor tomorrow.
How sad. It sounded like his engagement didn’t work out. Maybe next time he will choose a better person.
