Merlin came home from school with some great news today. Mr. Williams is going to be his teacher again next year. Apparently my pal Ty enjoys being with all of the weirdos in the Gifted Class. Merlin adores him, so that is great news for us. I don’t think that having such a good friend among the nerds’ parents made Ty’s decision harder either!
Amber came home with Starling to work on a Science Fair project. They have taken photos of all of their classmates faces and are posting them on an app where other people can rate them for attractiveness. Then they are going to personally rank them for popularity and make a chart comparing the numbers. It should be interesting.
I wonder how Fat Alice is going to do?
They posted the pictures and then went out back to play. They are just such happy, fun lovin’ lil’ gals! I am sure their photos would be very popular but they said they can’t use their own pictures because of scientific principles. Oh well!
They are both tens on my app!
Today was our second End-of-Year Party meeting, and I have to say it was pretty lively. Our goal for today was to agree on a theme. I had some great suggestions; The Great Gatsby (I have a darling dress for that one), Game of Thrones, Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend, and Cannes Red Carpet were just a few, but Cari couldn’t make the meeting and the rest of the women were just so dreary. They ended up deciding on “Moving Up”. What the hell kind of theme is that? I didn’t cry in front of anyone, but I was so disappointed at the moment.
I had gotten dressed like a serious business lady, and it hurt that no one respected my authority.
Now that I am home I have been concentrating on the “up” part of the theme and I am getting excited. I am thinking of geysers and helicopters and very high heels and fireworks. I think we can make something of this theme yet.
I could not possibly be prouder of my lil’ Starling. She came home today with this Citizenship Award from school for kindness and generosity! All those people who called her a bully can suck it, because she has now been recognized and received an actual certificate for being the best lil’ girl at the whole school!
I’ll bet those horrible Wozinski girls and fat Alice have never received one of these!
I am going to take this out to get it framed and I am sure this is the first of many awards for my lil’ angle. Harvard here we come!
I am sure that most people consider me a super-mom. I take care of my kiddies, my hubster and my home. I just barely have time to take a quick class or two at the gym and hang out with my gal pals between all of my obligations.
Something that is VERY important to me is volunteering at the children’s school. Their education is so important to me, and helping out in the classroom is the least I can do to support their wonderful teachers. I do most of my volunteering in Merlin’s class because I think they probably have a hard time finding parents who are intelligent enough to keep up with the genius class.
Today I was in charge of a special “Congress of the Minds” event in their class. I volunteered to run it last September, but of course I had to allow the other women to do SOME of the work. Margie Harris was my co-chair and I checked in with her pretty often. I mean, WAY more often than that bitch Margie claims I did. Anywhoo, women are so, so competitive, aren’t they? And I truly believe that we should be supporting each other, embracing each other, loving each other.
So today I went in for the event and it was great. I have to say that I am a wonderful chair, because it all ran so smoothly and there was a LOT going on. My committee had all decided to wear pants and flats because they were running around like crazy. I hadn’t gotten that email apparently, but it was just as well. Someone needs to be able to stand still and supervise and correct the other ladies when they don’t fulfill my vision. Also, I know that Ty appreciated having a chance to chat with me, even though he was pretty busy too.
There is nothing wrong with caring about your appearance. Margie could take a lesson from me here!
Merlin really loved his special day with Mommy, so I feel like I have done my job.
He didn’t say much after school, but that is the way with boys. I know he totally loved everything about having me at school today.
I got a call from the children’s school today. I don’t know what is going on there. It is a very good school in a very nice neighborhood but sometimes the administration is a little weird.
For instance, this morning they called and told me that they needed me to come in ASAP. Well, I am sure you are thinking what I was thinking, “What has Merlin done now?” Imagine my shock when I went into the office and sweet Starling was sitting there.
According to the guidance counselor, they have been trying to call me for weeks about Starling. Of course, I never answer the phone when the school calls because it always turns into a big misunderstanding (like this!) but I answered this morning because I didn’t recognize the number (it was the guidance counselor and usually it is just that bitch in the office) and I thought it might be my nail tech calling with a cancellation.
Apparently they think that Starling might be a bully! When they told me that, I just about exploded. My lil’ angle is not a bully! I stood up to leave and everyone was yelling all at once. I ran out of the building and they chased me because they said that I had to take Starling with me. They actually suspended her for a day because she was supposedly picking on the children in the gifted class and Fat Alice on her bus. She is a kind and gentle little girl, not a bully. I am sure she didn’t say anything that wasn’t true.
I even had to miss spin class and lunch with my friends! This is so unfair.
I am still steaming!
This angle is not a bully!
I had the nicest morning. I went on a power walk with Karen, then we went back to her house and had coffee and just laughed and laughed. Beefeater was acting so weird though. First he growled at me, then he cowered like he was scared. Karen finally had to lock him in her room. Later, I went to Pilates, then had my nails done and and a massage. I generally just got ready for a relaxing weekend.
Merlin was just driving me up a wall when he got home from school. He just kept scratching and scratching and complaining about an itchy head. So annoying.
I kept telling him to get his hands out of his hair!
I sent him up to his room and went to check my email and discovered that there are lice at the children’s school. LICE! How barbaric! Then I read the symptoms and it dawned on me that Merlin might have them!!!!! I ran up to his room and yelled at him to get outside immediately and then called the special crew that comes and delouses your house when this happens. Wow! It sure is expensive. I’ll bet he got them from those creepy twins he played with on Monday.
The next thing you know I saw Starling scratching her head. Oh my! Merlin gave his lice to his sweet sister! Why would he do that to Starling? What if we have to shave her beautiful hair? I can’t believe this is happening to me.
I kept telling her to stop scratching but she wouldn’t.
As soon as the lice team arrived I beat a hasty retreat.
I don’t want lice too!
I called Röbert from the wine bar and told him he had to get home and deal with the mess. I think I will be shopping for all new everything tomorrow!
By the way, I read that lice prefer clean hair, so we are NOT dirty at all! Keep those nasty comments to yourself.
